The other day, I decided to share Romans 6:5-11, written by the Apostle Paul, with small group . I asked God if this was from Him or me. While driving home, He gave me the song ‘Live and Let Die’ by Sir Paul McCartney to confirm…..I seriously think God likes classic rock.
Tonight was amazing. Walls came down, people got real, scripture was dug into, and God was honored. I thought of this bit of insight as we talked:
When I was born, from the moment I took my first breath, my body began its journey into death. Thus when we begin our earthly life, we also begin our earthly death. Kinda surreal isn’t it? But the coolest part is this….when I was spiritually born, the exact opposite happened…the minute Christ came into my life, I began living eternally. So now the only real death in my life are the things that used to hold me in bondage to sin…those things died the minute Christ stepped into my heart and thus my life with Him, my eternal life, began.
So my friends I say to you, along with Paul and Paul LIVE (in Christ) and LET DIE!
In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. Romans 6:11
