Today my mom and I went to lunch with some friends. I saw a photo opp, and decided to take advantage of my beautiful mother…really, she has aged well, and she is and always has been very photogenic….but today, she couldn’t seem to KEEP HER EYES OPEN and the situation just got funnier and funnier….here’s how it went down:
ME – ” Mom, smile”
Photo #1

ME – (Laughing)…”Ok, lets try again, and this time with your eyes open”
MOM – “Really? I didn’t think I blinked”
Photo #2

ME – (Laughing harder, and passing the funny photos around the table) “Whats the problem? You blinked again ?”
MOM – “Yes, I felt it that time..lets try again”
Photo #3 (Were getting closer!)

By now, the third time she had her eyes closed, I was laughing so hard I was crying…what made this even funnier was that we had the same problem with my 80 year old grandmother, and we totally laughed at her….guess what goes around comes around, and my time is coming….
ME – (laughing so hard that I was making that whistling noise) “Oh my gosh, we gotta do this mom, keep your eyes open”
MOM- (laughing almost as much as I am) “OK, one more time”
Photo #4

Basically by now, it was like a fun game…she took 4 photos, and they all look the same…and she can’t seem to keep her eyes open. Tears are streaming down my face as well as my buddy Lorie’s and we decide to try ONE MORE TIME…
FINALLY Photo #5

Isn’t she beautiful? A southern lady. And yes, she knows I am posting this, and thinks its just as hilarious as I do…and if you aren’t laughing..well then I guess its just one of those “you had to be there” moments.
Peace and smiles from Kentucky…
